City Garden-Small Lot

The site is a small 40 by 70 foot city lot with the house located in the middle. The objective was to provide a design that the young clients could use as a basis for their own implementation. The north side is next to a public lane so plants are used to provide privacy. A system of multi-level decks adds interest and allows the clients to get access to more sunshine. The front gate is moved off-center to reduce the steepness of the entry through a series of steps, and to provide more interesting side garden solutions.
