City Garden-Medium Lot

The site is a typical 50 by 120 foot city lot with the house located in the middle. The objectives were to provide a more interesting southern entrance, and a deck structure on the north side that would allow more enjoyment of the garden. The design solution was a curved concrete paver front walkway with a secondary path split off to the side of the house. The walkway was surrounded by raised new plant borders. The back deck was designed to step down to the garden via a series of steps with an area for a large table for dining al fresco. The deck was built around an apple tree that needed to be retained, and railings were made of cedar and bamboo.
