University Garden

This project was undertaken to design a garden for in front of the Forest Sciences Center Building at UBC. The garden design needed to provide a gathering place that was protected from winds and strong summer sun, and screened out the unattractive views of the parking lots and residential areas. The garden design was based on an amphitheatre area for gatherings and shelter, a water feature to provide interest and background noise for privacy, and the use of surrounding berms to provide shelter and interesting elevation changes.
